Walkden Gardens are a public green space owned by Trafford Council. The Friends of Walkden Gardens work with the Council, and their contractor Amey, to maintain and improve the Gardens.

The Gardens are open every day and entrance is FREE OF CHARGE except on a few occasions when there are musical or theatrical performances taking place.

We regret that, except when there are theatrical events, there are no toilet facilities on site.

Please note that, as the Gardens are a public open space, they cannot normally be hired for private events.

The gates are normally opened at about 9.00am (sometimes earlier) and are officially closed at 4.30pm in Winter and 7.00pm in Summer. Please don’t risk getting locked in! Also, please check the onsite noticeboard as they may sometimes close earlier!

Jane Baugh Sculpture Trail

At 2pm on Saturday 14 August 2021 Dr. Peter Baugh will officially open the sculpture trail that the Friends of Walkden Gardens commissioned in memory of the late Councillor Jane Baugh who was a great supporter of the Gardens. All welcome!
