Sculpture Trail

Andy Burgess has now finished carving the sculptures for Walkden Gardens.
Many thanks to Mike Drain for collecting them and kindly donating 8 bags of cement for fixing them in place.
The sculptures will be installed in the Gardens once the lockdown regulations permit.

Cllr. Jane Baugh – R.I.P.

The Friends Group were saddened by the death in February 2020 of Councillor Jane Baugh.
Jane was a very active supporter of the Gardens and served on the Committee of the Friends Group for many years.
She will be very much missed by us all.

A JustGiving page has been set up to raise funds for St. Ann’s Hospice because of the end of life care they provided for Jane.

Workday 29 Feb 2020

These are some photos taken by Gill Baker on 29th February workday.
There was a lot of clearing to do in the Gardens after the recent storms. It was a dry, sunny morning. A lot of work was done tidying the beds and hedges in the Tranquil garden . Some local Beavers planted primrose plug plants, snowdrops and English bluebells along the Woodland Walkway. The Japanese Garden Society did their monthly maintenance including removing several large branches from some of the acers.
