Normally anyone is welcome to come along to our monthly work days in the Gardens. However, Government corona virus regulations specify that groups have to be limited to a maximum of 6 persons. Therefore, for the time being, please do not come to a workday unless you have been specifically invited by a personal email.
When normality returns, all volunteers will again be welcomed.
Meanwhile, if you are interested in helping in the Gardens, helping to organise our regular events or would like to join our small committee, please download the membership application form and post the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org
Andy Burgess has now finished carving the sculptures for Walkden Gardens.
Many thanks to Mike Drain for collecting them and kindly donating 8 bags of cement for fixing them in place.
The sculptures will be installed in the Gardens once the lockdown regulations permit.
The Friends Group were saddened by the death in February 2020 of Councillor Jane Baugh.
Jane was a very active supporter of the Gardens and served on the Committee of the Friends Group for many years.
She will be very much missed by us all.
A JustGiving page has been set up to raise funds for St. Ann’s Hospice because of the end of life care they provided for Jane.
During the present lockdown the Gardens are still open to the general public. However, please remember to observe the 2 metres social distancing and the other regulations introduced to limit the spread of this virus.
There will be no volunteer workdays in the Gardens until further notice. Please watch our Facebook page for any updates.
